Firm History
Laurie Sadler started the firm on October 1, 1984 when he purchased a small bookkeeping business that consisted of ten monthly bookkeeping clients. Back then, there were only two full time employees.
The mission for the practice was to provide small to medium sized companies with access to advanced financial skills without having their companies bear the cost of a full time financial manager. We were, as we are now, committed to providing value to our clients.
The practice developed and the client list grew. In 1987, Bruce Weismiller joined with Laurie to create the newly named firm, Sadler Weismiller, located in small premises on Scott Road in Delta.
The firm outgrew the premises on Scott Road and subsequently moved to King George Highway in Surrey. There, the expansion continued at a faster rate until we once again moved to our present location at 7445 132 nd street in Surrey where we hope to be for several years to come. We are proud of our offices and have room to grow.
The rapid growth in the number of clients on the late 1990's led us to introduce a new structure in our office to provide better and more timely services to our clients. We now utilize a system that sees supervisors assisting the partners in controlling the flow of work. This process has allowed us to process client files more quickly thus enabling clients the opportunity to select from a variety of optional tax and business strategies. Their dedication has been welcome and a great benefit to all.
Elaine Spencer was promoted from supervisor to partner in the firm in January of 2000 and began the process of serving a growing block of clients.
In June 2001, Laurie Sadler retired and Carmen Arndt became a partner in the firm. Carmen has gone on to meet other challenges outside the firm and retired as a partner in 2007.
In January 2008, Gord Tod was promoted to partner in the firm after starting the firm as a articling student, achieving the designation and working his way up through the ranks. Gord has continued to concentrate his training on tax and planning related issues for managed business as well as serving existing and new clients.
Amrit Sidhu became a partner in January 2003 after being part of the firm's supervisory staff since 1998. He has taken a keen interest in guiding our clients in the entertainment industry and continues to develop his knowledge of tax and business planning.
We have benefited from the kind referrals from our existing clients and now serve several thousand personal tax clients and over six hundred corporate clients spread across many industry groups.
Our team of professionals is expanding and they're all dedicated to serving our clients in the best way they can.
